About the Speaker
Dr. G Wynn is a consultant psychiatrist, owner and founder at The Ecdysis Clinic based in Wellington, New Zealand which provides general psychiatric services alongside psychedelic treatment. Prior to founding Ecdysis, Dr Wynn was a consultant psychiatrist and senior medical officer for Capital and Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) in Wellington, New Zealand. During his four and a half years at CCDHB, Dr Wynn was founder and director of the ketamine for PTSD and Depression clinic at Wellington Regional Hospital - the first of its kind in Wellington. He was director of the clinic from 2022 at its inception until 2025 when he left the public system to open his own clinic focused on psychedelic care for PTSD and Depression.
He is a Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and a Senior Scientist at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australia & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, past President of the Society of Uniformed Services Psychiatrists, and member of the Order of Military Medical Merit. He is proud to be a retired US Army officer having spent 20+ years in uniform.
Dr. Wynn received his undergraduate education at the United States Military Academy at West Point, attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and completed a dual residency in psychiatry and internal medicine at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. During his career he served as Division Psychiatrist for the 2nd Infantry Division out of Camp Casey, Korea, Assistant Chief of Inpatient Psychiatric Services at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, Research Psychiatrist at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Assistant Chair for Research at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Wynn has previously served on various boards and committees for the US Department of Defense, the US Veterans Affairs Administration, the National Institute of Mental Health, and as US Representative and Chair for NATO Human Factors in Medicine panels. He currently is one of two representatives for New Zealand to the Military, Veterans’ and Emergency Services Personnel Mental Health Network Bi-National Committee of the Royal Australia & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Wynn has given numerous presentations on mental health including international presentations on four different continents and has over 100 publications including three books. His books include the Clinical Manual of Drug Interaction Principles for Medical Practice, the Clinical Manual for Management of PTSD, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine for PTSD.
